which direction : building a website- newbie

OK first If you don't know there are a lot of different ways to build a website.
there is go-daddy. But let me tell you my experience with them.
The advertise that they take Paypal but when I got to the site and went through the the steps of
picking out my domain and went to check out the option was not there and I was pulling my hair trying
to figure out what I was doing wrong.
So I got tech support on the line. that's right the( line ) they do not offer chat support!!
Hostgator does and there awesome at it too!!!
OK so they tell me after a long wait that you must put a credit card on file first!! NOT!
And when I picked a few domains and was trying to check out I had three of them at .99 cents
then I added the promo code in and the price went up to 2.99 not down. crazy right?
now mind you I have them on the line when this is going on but they cant tell me why .
so they tell me to remove it and put it back in and IT WENT UP SOME MORE!
The lady on the line was confused and could do nothing to get the price to go back
down on here end,NOTHING!
So like I totally would be happy if she got it back down to the 2.99 price it went up to the first time.
But all she could do is nothing...So she lost my sale and any future business with them.
I was trying them out and went back to my tried and true domain provider NAMECHEAP
Namecheap is where a lot of people go to. And there great I have had zero problems with them.
So if your just starting out that's who I recommend . Next is hosting,I like many others use host gator!
Hostgator is awesome and offer great support and that's important for someone first starting out because
being new you will have things you will have questions about like I did and they have chat support!!!!
Every time I had a issue they took care of it quick and were pleasant to work with.
So Hostgator is the way. So lets RECAP: buy your domain at namecheap and then register it with hostgator.
